The freistil 169 sofa range thrives on contrasts: high and low; heavy and light; curvy and straight. This does not make it see itself as classically modern: it creates something completely new. The designer was inspired by the sensual opulence of the Ottoman Empire. One particularly unusual feature is the high tapering back, looking like one of those stiff stand-up 19th century collars. Then when you play with your freistil 169 with cushions of different patterns, colours and sizes, you create a vibrant sofa landscape which entices you to luxuriate in the most sensuous comfort.
