“What is it about them that attracts me?!
Is it the subtle, intelligent form? A game of
some perfectly graceful waving lines; where
black and white are in perfect balance, with
a contrasting colour accent; minimalism at
its best. It is their cuddliness, their kindness,
their activeness, their playful “way of life”?
To me it was obvious, with the pure beauty
and simplicity of these animals, I had to do
something.”
The Pinkwin designed by Guy Buseyne is
convincing because of its balanced and pure
lines in a highly stylised form. The palette
of black, white, graphite and optional
emphasis of gold and bronze enhances its
classy appearance.
The sculpture is even
more striking in group arrangement. This
attractive, highly tactile sculpture possesses
a warmth typical for Selma Calheira’s
creations. In her studio Cores da Terra, she
uses natural pigments and raw materials
only which contributes even more to the
warm and authentic appearance of the
Pinkwin. Selma uses her craftsmanship and
art to create beautiful pieces for us but also
prosperity for the local community by using
local talent and natural resources.
