Kettal turns 60, and some designs never lose their voice.
Designed in the 1950s, its embracing shape and intricate weave redefined what comfort could look like sculptural, generous, and deeply human.
More than a re-edition, Basket is a tribute to a way of thinking about design: honest materials, meticulous craftsmanship, and forms that endure beyond trends. The original indoor version, crafted in oak with hand-braided wicker, preserves the spirit of the Ditzels’ vision. Its outdoor counterpart, in teak and weather-resistant artificial fibre, extends that legacy into open-air living.
A seat that feels like a gesture.
An icon that still feels contemporary.
Kettal at 60. Celebrating the designs that continue to shape the way we live.
