Vase: antoinette

This vase undergoes 3 separate firings in the course of its production process. A first firing for the white enamel, then a second to add colour (the enamel vaporises into a powder). A third firing achieves a crackled finish by ‘overcooking’. This bicolour crackle finish is a real technical achievement. Vase in matt off-white enamelled faïence and gloss grey. The designer’s signature appears on the base of each vase.
